Common questions about branded merchandise
-
Promotional merchandise — also called branded merchandise, swag, or corporate merch — is any physical product that carries a brand's identity. It ranges from event giveaways and trade show swag to corporate gifts, swag kits, and branded apparel. At Maverick, we design and produce merch programs as part of broader marketing activations, not as commodity orders.
-
Minimums depend on the item and the production method. Apparel with screen printing typically starts at 24 units. Embroidered items start at 12. Items like custom-printed drinkware or stationery vary by supplier — most start between 50 and 250 units. We work to your quantity, not the other way around.
-
It depends entirely on item, quantity, and production method. Branded apparel can run from $15 to $80 per unit depending on quality and decoration. Swag kits typically run $25 to $150 per kit assembled and shipped. We scope every project to your budget and recommend trade-offs honestly — better quality and fewer units almost always outperforms cheaper quality and bigger quantities.
-
Standard apparel and accessories: two to four weeks from sign-off to delivery. Custom-designed or specialty items: four to eight weeks. Holiday and event programs need to be scoped six to twelve weeks ahead of the deadline — supplier lead times tighten significantly in Q4.
-
Both — depending on what's right for the project. We default to Atlantic Canada and domestic suppliers for speed, quality control, and shipping cost. We use overseas sourcing for specialty items, high-volume orders where domestic capacity is limited, or where the product type isn't made locally. We're transparent about origin on every quote.
-
Design is included in every merch program we run. Our team develops the artwork, mockups, and production-ready files as part of the project — not as a separate line item. You'll see proofs before anything goes to production.
